PRESENTS their 8th Youth Peace & Cultural Eduction Program to Ghana
Purpose: To promote youth leadership through global education and peace exchanges between the US and African youth and a cultural immersion experience in Africa/Ghana for the US team, via conflict resolution and problem-solving activities, educational instructions, peer dialogues and social interactions, community service projects, and language and cultural experiences.
High School students, 9-12th grades or recent High School graduate at the time of travel in summer 2025.
Complete and submit the application form, with a one-page letter of interest (State your personal/academic background, your reason(s) for applying to the program, and explain how you plan to apply and share your experience from the program), one letter of reference from your teacher, pastor/ organization leader, and $20 application fee (non-refundable).
Selected candidates must attend approximately 4-5 pre-trip orientation sessions and a conflict resolution workshop. More details will be presented at pre-trip orientations; Date to be announced .
Participants are expected to pay $5200.00 toward the program expenses; including, international airfare to/from US/Ghana, all breakfast meals, dinners, lodging, group admission into museums, parks, and slave castles; ground transportation and local guides in Africa; and project administration. Initial deposit of $2,000 is due upon acceptance into program; on February 22nd, 2025. Monthly payments in the amount of $800.00 payable from March – June with the Final payment of $800.00 due June 1st, 2025, Churches, businesses, organizations, philanthropists, and schools are invited to sponsor participants.

Additional personal expenses not included: US international passport, Ghana entry visa, vaccinations, travel/medical insurance, lunches in Ghana. Optional College credits for an additional cost & application.
The project will be directed by the Afripeace Chairman, Dr. Ernest Uwazie, and Ghana Program Director Ms. Karen Green, of Empowering Travel and Tours. In addition, there will be 2 US trained adult/teacher guides before and during the trip to Ghana, plus an experienced guide and lead partner in Ghana.
